I don't know if I'm one of those people getting worked up because I've been reading too many medical articles online or not... On and off for a few weeks, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain (mostly noticeable during/after intercourse) mostly on my left side. I just figured it would go away so I ignored it. On Thursday, the pain was more severe (during/after again) to the point where it was difficult to sit, stand, walk... but it went away. I called my ob/gyn (since I figured it was a problem she should be able to address) and she could only see me a week later (this upcoming Thursday 3/15). Later on Thursday, I started experiencing bleeding whenever I pass stool. It's bright red and turns the water just about totally bright red. It only happens when I have a bm. And yea, sometimes there is pain as it's passing. So I called my PCP on Friday with the symptoms, she can't see me until the monday after (3/19)... Do I wait or do I seek some who can get me in sooner?

Just show up at the office. Maybe they are open today...

Recently I just showed up at the doctors office. My child was having a severe reaction to some medication. They took us immediately. I have learned over the past few years that the doctors are not aware of what is going on in scheduling. I suggest you talk directly to the doctor about this. I did with my eye doctor and ob/gyn and they were very appreciative in my disclosure about the scheduling problems. I once had a rash and was told that I couldn't be seen for 3 WEEKS. I got a new doctor. Interview the new doc first and ask about scheduling and office hours. Also look at the amount of people in the waiting room...ask about that too.

You might want to go to an acute care center if your insurance allows as I would want to be seen sooner than what you are being offered. I don't really care for the emergency rooms in our area. I was left in the ER for hours with a huge gapping chuck out of my leg. They actually took an out of towner needing an arthritis prescription RENEWAL before me.

hang in there.
