I live in Tennessee and I dropped out od school. I was wondering when I turn 18 will I have to get my permit before I get my license or can I skip the permit since I will be 18?

What does it matter? Without an education you won't be able to afford a car.

Trust me on this one, go back to school. You've chosen the school of hard knocks, which is way more difficult than any High School or College.

I dont know about Tennessee, but in Texas you go straight to the license. I was 18 when I got mine, and all I had to do was take both the written and driving exam and I got my official license. You dropping out of school wont have anything to do with it.

As an "adult" you can wait until you're 18.

The fact that you dropped out of school doesn't play a part in this. However, the fact that you included that statement in your question almost guarantees that everyone will rag on you for THAT rather than answering your true question.

Good Luck!

If I might suggest, you have made the worst decision of your life by dropping out of school. Go back.
