Yes Tom, I do. I also pray for the people I don't know. I pray for people who appear in the news having problems, like victims of natural disasters, victims of wars, soldiers, etc.

You mother is wise. Do as she says, for she is teaching you the right thing to do. I am glad you are such a good son, because you obeyed your mother's request.

I wish you and your mom a very good day.

You can be one of the most powerful resources for your leaders and others, without even leaving your room; Intercessory prayer is awesome. In fact, in the original Hebrew text, the power of it is
called "dynamite!".
How to pray? The same exact way that you would speak to your dad - God is our Heavenly Father, the closest relative you have - just talk to him the way you would any loved-one, and He will appreciate that so much more than reading or reciting
some written prayer. In fact, its rather insulting to Him to do that.
Use your own words, and tell Him what you think, feel, even what you need.
The prayers of His children are so important to Him, that he keeps them "bottled".

I Pray for the President and all people that are in a position of authority. That God will give them wisdon and understanding that they will perform their duties to the benefit of the people and in God's Perfect Will. The Bible tells us to Pray for those who have authority over us.

Yes I do pray for the Pres. and others I do not know. I pray that the Pres., congress etc will look to the Lord as they lead the country. The reason we pray is that God's will be accomplished. Christians in particular complain about how people are leading this country- but it says that IF MY PEOPLE WILL PRAY- then God will forgive our sins and heal our land. It is up to the people of God to humble ourselves and pray that the Lord work through our leaders. Your mom is right- continue to pray.

I pray for others I do not know all of the time. That would include the "leaders of all Nations" so that we might have peace in the world and be freed from the horrors of war. I also pray for the soldiers and sailors of the military (whom I personally do not know) that they will have the resolve to defend the freedoms I enjoy. I express my appreciation for that blessing of a military to God every day.

We should always pray for our leaders. They need all the divine help they can get.

Whether they are good leaders or Bad leaders, they all need prayer. I met President Bush a couple years ago, and that is exactly what I told him - that i pray for him everyday. He was greatful and admitted that he needs them.

Absolutely, and all those who are sick or suffering, for our troops, for those who may be suffering great sadness. I pray all day long by the thoughts in my head, I remember to give thanks each day because there is always so much to be thankful for. I pray and give thanks while reading and answering questions at this site.

Your mother is wise *smile*...the bible says to pray for our leaders. Prayer is very powerful, and I'm grateful that your mother has instructed you so well. Yes I do pray for people I don't know and thank you for your example. Pray for wisdom for them, for protection, for guidance from God. For strength and grace. For them to seek the will of God and perform it. For blessings on their health and families, that God keep them close and set their feet on a path of righteousness.

We are commanded to pray for those in authority over us. We do not know what they go through every day, but it is easy for us to sit back and cast opinions.

I pray for protection and wisdom to rule according to what is right and true.
