My son woke up yesterday with a fever (around 100). Other than that, he only complained of a headache. Thruoughout the day, he started to get a runny nose and cough. I kept his fever in check with Tylenol and Ibprofen. I gave him cough medicine for his cough. Today he woke up with a fever of 102 and looks horrible. He is pale and doesn't want to do much except sit on couch with blanket on him. He is shivering (fever). I am giving himTylenol and Ibprofen still. His only other symptoms are a headache. So basically he has a fever, headache, runny nose, and a cough. His appetite is fine though and he has no vomiting or diherrea. What do you think it is- cold or flu?

You shouldn’t. The whole idea is that you build up resistance . Unfortunately you have been thrown in the deep end and maybe you were not exposed to many colds at a younger age. If you are going to be a teacher for the next 20 years ... I would advise that you build up your resistance now , before you become Head Teacher. You might want to get inoculated against this years popular Flu ‘ The Flu Jab ‘ , they can be 10 times worse than Colds – that’s probably why you went in to hospital. If you never have a cold in your life , then at age 70 you catch your 1st cold , you will probably die . If you have had 100’s of colds during your life time , then at age 70 your 1,000th cold will be a walk in the park . In this case I would argue that Prevention is Not better than building up resistance. Oh , and takeing medicine will only delay your recovery and confuse your bodies immune system. Suffer now , Don't pay later. Notes : Taking over 500mg of Vitamin C can cause more DNA damage ( Mutations ) , the Rda for Vitamin C is below 100mg ( unless you have High levels of Copper in your Blood just eat an orange or 2 a day. ) Common sense is obvious For example; after chopping red hot chillies Never put your fingers in your eyes , and after touching 20 students books , don’t suck your thumb.

Flu, colds don't usually get to that high of a temperature. Take him to the doctor if it gets higher, and remember, push the fluids!

it sounds to me like the flu. take into consideration his eating habits as well, or if he is nauseated. you may want to see a doctor.
