so I'm the only girl (and the youngest member) of my school jazz band. The guys in it are mostly all older than me (juniors and seniors.. I'm a sophomore.) and they constantly make sexual jokes about me and make fun of me. It's not in a mean way, but it's still odd to me, since I don't know most of them that well. They do things like flash the "shocker" hand symbol at me, pretend to grab my a**, and make jokes about me. I don't get most of the jokes, and that's probably why they do it, but do you think that they hate me or just consider me "one of the guys"?

baby girl, you have to put a stop to this. elbow the next guy who try to grab you or even pretending. right now they just think that you're a push over. you need to get mad on this.

I don't need to see a pic of you to know that the young men are being disrespectful and you would be best advised to ignore their immature antics. I don't think that they hate you but they obviously feel something and are merely flirting with you. Are there similar responses from the male sex population in your other classes? If not I would chalk the jazzy boyz up as being asses. Or you could approach them and inquire as to what they are attempting to communicate to you, I'm pretty sure that their answer will leave no mystery.

Best thing to do is to let them know that you are not comfortable with the stuff they are saying and doing to you. Let them know that you want to stay in the band and stay friends with them but the sexual innuendos needs to stop. I am sure it will be hard to bring up but if the respect you and like you as a friend they will respect your wishes.

Their actions are purely sexual harassment. Tell them it is disrespectful and that it must stop. If it doesn't, report them. You need to learn now how to respect your own body and to ensure that others do, too. All of them probably have sisters and mothers who wouldn't want to be treated in this manner.

i admire this! the only one I disagree with is the "Oh do not fuss, it somewhat is basically a decrease."
