When I was a kid, I used to think librarians were expected to read all the books in the library. I thought it was a really important job.
In a big library like Chicago's Harold Washington, you've different people doing different things. From simply shelving the books to the ones who can help you with your inquires in great detail and of course, let's not forget the people who actually check your books out, you know, the ones who never smile and always make you feel like you're bugging them.

A librarian is like the caretaker of a library. He/she makes sure the books are in good condition, and also keeps track of who has which book. They also keep the shelves organized so everyone can find the book they're looking for.

The librarian at my school works his butt off. He has book talks, constantly updates the library books and magazines, helps students on the computers, pulls materials for teachers,maintains a professional library for adults, houses videos, and keeps the library attractive so kids will want to visit... and they do.

Our librarian
~checks books in and out
~helps students find novels & research
~orders books & magazines
~monitors classes when substitutes are not available
~teaches lessons on information resources
~helps students with homework (if they come in before school, at lunch, or after school)
~track overdue books & fines
~update our Accelerated Reader program & rosters
~run our "mini" library computer lab
~sell affordable school supplies to students
~run/manage our student copier

Well...librarians are like curator of books. Just imagine, he/she knows all the books in the whole library room! How cool is that? Geez, who could only memorize such enormous information but only the cool librarians we have there?

Keeps books in the right order and,helps people with their enquirers .gives books out to people and receive books in to the library..taking money
..dusting and cleaning .. running the whole show really.. lol

They sit around and wait for people to ask them how to find a certain book. They probably get a lot of reading done too.,..

They are those old women with glasses that boys think are sexy because they have this whole mystery thing going on, and most important they organize the place and help you find books.
