Diet does affect your skin. Did you know that your body gets rid of toxins through your skin and in other ways? Zits can be caused from inside your body and from outside influences. If you take good care of yourself on the inside and keep your face clean every day that might help with your skin problems. They could be sun spots, or blemishes, or a rash of some sort. Have you thought about going to a dermatologist for your spots? Good Luck

Hello
Diet effects the overall health of the body, and the internal changes damage your skin.
For good skin you need All the main Vitamins and calcium, and if you don't have enough in your diet, your skin suffers because it is one of the last places they will go.
This is because the vitamins have to go to the bones, blood, organs, muscles, hair, and then the skin, so a plentifull supply is needed for any of the goodness to reach your skin.
If there is not enough going to your skin, your skin will lose natural moisture and the bodys moisturiser (sebum) will start working, sebum is what gives you spots because it is the skins natural oil, and when it cloggs pores pimples are formed.
I hope i've helped, but this is just logic from a 13 year old so i'm sorry if i can't help as much as others.

loads of people say it affects their skin, but it absolutely no affect on mine whatsoever. its been proved time and time again that diet has no affect on acne, but the urban legend lives on. although eating well wont affect your acne, you should do it anyway, because its good for your complexion (ie your skin will look healthier) and your skin will heal faster after you get a spot, and also, obviously, ITS GOOD FOR YOU! some people break out after eating some foods, i assume thats because of allergys.
spots are caused by pores which get blocked, so the bacteria that naturally occurs in everyone skin is able to thrive, and the pore gets infected beneath the blockage. diet wont affect this. hormones do, because they effect the amount of sebum the pores create, you could go on the pill, but i dont recomend it, as it made my skin way worse. go on oral antibiotics, these kill the bacteria deep in your pores where the problem is, and no skincare can reach. its working for me, yay!
also, use good quality, gentle skincare, like clinique. dont use proactiv or somrthing like that, its really hard on your skin, and all that astringent antibacterial stuff is unnecasary when your on antibiotics anyway, its just stripping your skin of sebum, and you'll produce more, and itl just get worse.
Eating fried foods could definetly cause things like pimple and so cold greasy foods. Try to stay away from them.

Your diet does affect your skin. However, "spots" are something that you should go over with your dermatologist. A spotting of the skin can be caused from a WIDE variety of things from infections to sun damage to an allergic reaction. I would set up an appointment with your dermatologist and doctor as well, see what they think.

Go and have an allergy test done, you may find you are allergic to some foods and the allergy causes the spots.
I speak from experience as after an accident my bodies immune system went into overdrive and I was getting spots on my back and shoulders. I went for an allergy test and found I was allergic to chocolate cheese and coffee. I have consumed all three all my life with no problems. But due to my bodies hieghtened systems when I consumed these I came out in spots. I stopped and the spots stopped. That was several years ago and my body's systems are responding in a normal state and even though my systems are allergic to the three I can now consume them again with no noticable effects.

Actually, your diet does not always reflect on your skin.
Obviously eating things like greasy foods, fattening foods aren't great for your skin and CONTRIBUTE towards spots etc, but its not usually the main reason. things like your hormones, stress & even genetics cause spots, even things like touch your face unnecessarily or not washing.
You can drink all the water in the world & have an incredibly healthy diet, but if your hormones are all over the place or your family has generations of problem skin...your going to get breakouts.
90% of the time its down to your hormones....a lot of girls can eat as much choccy & fatty foods as they like and still have perfect skin!
Enjoy your greasy/fatty foods but in small quantaties & dont have them all the time. If you really feel its your diet thats affecting your skin then cut down on your fatty foods and increase your more healthier foods & see if that makes a difference!

Well the best diet for your skin and body would be to eat a lot of healthy and organic foods rich with protein and nutrients. Think lean meats and a lot of leafy greens. Sometimes a lot of fast food and or processed food is not really good for your skin. Also skip the soda, drink plenty of water. It is the best and easiest way to keep your skin healthy.

I don't get spots, never have. I consider myself lucky but also feel that I've helped it by eating well and drinking a lot of water throughout my life. Also I rarely wear full make up, just a bit of eyeshadow and some lippy. When I do wear make up I always take it off thoroughly before bed. I moisturise daily, don't wear gunk on my hair and just try to look after my skin. Wear sunscreen in the summer and just remember that its got to last you a long time!!

Yes, very much so...It's like that old saying, "you are what you eat". Drink lots of water, take a multi-vitamins with extra E and K, and exercise.Go to the whole foods store (organic store) they will tell you what your skin is lacking and recommend what you need to take. Start eating organically its more expensive but it's better for your diet.
