NASCAR fans are some of the best I have ever met. I have never had a problem watching a race at a track (except Poconos - hated it) They are long races do you really need to see every second of the race. Also, unless you're right behind the car I don't think you'll be "sucking up exast fumes for 3 hours" as you're outdoors and the air isn't so bad (except the sweaty people sitting around you). Go drink a few and enjoy the race.

I b a nascar race. No, seriously. At most NASCAR tracks you can see the whole track. There are also big screens so you can see what is going on the whole way around. If you have a chance to see a race live, go for it. It's as much about the atmosphere as the racing. The only thing you won't get if you go to a live race is the driver interviews. Well, that and bathroom lines. Anyways, if you don't want to go to Michigan, let me know, I would be happy to take your place!

I have heard horror stories of beer spilling on the person in front of people and other things, but I have never had a problem. I have been to the last four Michigan races and have NEVER had a problem. The only time I got beer on me was when I made the mistake of walking UNDER the stands after the race. Icky!! And, of course I got drenched last June, but that was thanks to Mother Nature!!! My family had talked me out of going to races for YEARS, and I finally went in 2005, and I will NEVER miss a "home" race (MIS) again. In August, the person going with me bailed, and I even went alone!! I say definately go!!

I have sat in turn 4 three times, and on the fronstretch the last time. I have always been able to see 100% of the track, and have great experiences!

Just went to the Nascar weekend @ California Speedway, it was great I would highly recommend anyone who is any sort of Nascar fan to go see a race live, Go to an oval though, get a seat high in the stands and rent a Nextel Fan View. It was a great experience for my wife and I, We also went to see the Vancouver Canucks win two Hockey games in SoCal that week it was the greatest Hillbilly Honeymoon/Redneck Roadtrip a Canadian could dream of !!!!!!!!!

While Michigan is great, but I say head south to Talladega, or Daytona this year. Bristol is another track, where there's beatin and bangin all around the track. It's brutal!! It's what racing should be like. Another favorite is Atlanta. It's super fast, and pretty much all the drivers love it!

Michigan is a much better place to watch a race live. At Indy you only see them for a little while then they disappear and you have to wait for them to come back around. An added bonus, you'll only have about 135,000-140,000 screaming drunks at Michigan : )

do what i do at the short tracks go to the top of the stands i mean so high you can spit off of it and it falls for about 100 ft the stand on the bleacher seat up there you can see over the drunks and you can see a good portion of the track that way

With NASCAR you can see the whole track if you sit high enough. I went to the Denver Gran Prix and I feel your pain, but, I did sit in turn 13 where Tracy got into it with Bordais and that was the bomb.
