she never comes out to play, she hides all day long... i never have problems with her using the litter box and she catches mice, but she is not at all friendly... any suggestions on how to make her like us?

Do you have small children?
They can be VERY scary to a small animals.
Or even not so small children, if its kinda loud in the house its probably very frightening if shes never been around things like that. Where did you get her from? Has she ever been 'inside'
with people before, or only outside with other kittens?
She is in a strange new place, give her time and speak very soft and try to spend more time working with her.
By the way, I have six cats and they are not nocturnal.
People think cats are, because on average cats sleep somewhere around 18 hours a day, in other words out of 24 hours they total like 6 hours of being awake. (cat naps)
They snooze alot!

All cats are nocturnal..which means they are more active at night. It has nothing to do with with personality. It could be she was never properly socialized as a kitten.

get a straight jacket and haver her stare at your family for a whole day. OR you can pamper her and treat her better so she wont be affraid of you.
