It was peoples religious beliefs that got him strung up if I remember correctly. You should inform yourself before you ask a question. Did you know that the KKK are all white christian supremists? Did a group of Atheists inagurate the Crusades or Inquisitions, or was it done in the name of God? In the middle east, wars are fought in the name of thier god, is He called Oil or Al, I forget? It looks like "Christians will be doing the lynching - again, not the Atheists.

In Revelation chapter 6 vrese 15 we read and the kings of the earth the great men the rich men the commanders the mighty men every slave and every free man hid themselves in the caves and the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and the rocks fall on us and hide us from the face of HIM that sits on the throne and from the wrath of the LAMB for the great day of HIS WRATH HAS COME and who shall be able to stand.. since the aetheists number themselves with the greatest of the great on this earth, I think this says it all. and I want to add that today is a good time for all those who read this to think about where they are in this crowd..because there are some who are standing when JESUS DOES COME AGAIN.

Jesus was not lynched by atheists. Jesus was put to death by the people he came to offer the kingdom of God. Theyw ere not ready for the Kingdom. When the Kingdom comes, be ready and accept it.

Why does everyone on this site act like they are experts and take these questions soooo literally and seriously? Atheists pagans whatever, I thought it was a good, funny question.

Hi, I'm Christian - I'm trying not to laugh, so'
I can write this:

Christ is not returning this time as a lamb to the slaughter - this time He returns as a King, and carrying a big "rod of iron". Thats for correction, and boy, is this world ever ready for some correction. I assure you, things will get whipped into shape;
this return of Christ will bring in a 1000 yr period of teaching and disipline, both of which are desperately needed.

(if ya think I mean athiests need correction, you are wrong - Christians, Buddhists,
J.W.'s, all who need straightening out are gonna get it)

Again? Get your history straight- the people who "lynched" him were the Romans and the Jews. Both were god(s)-fearing people.

Atheism= belief that god(s) do not exist.

NO because it wasn't atheists that lynched him the first time. It was self righteous religious folk; remember.

Atheists didn't try to lynch him ever, according to the bible.

Hardly. Jesus came the first time to lay down his life as payment for the sin debt of all who would believe on Him for their salvation. It wasn't like He couldn't have stopped the lynch mob.

Matthew 26:51 And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear.

52 Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword. 53 Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?"

When Jesus comes again, He isn't coming as mister nice guy who asks his Father to forgive people because they don't know what they are doing. People have had at least 2,000 years to turn to God through Jesus and eventually their time will run out if they don't believe.

"Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.

His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he called to all the birds that fly directly overhead,

"Come, gather for the great supper of God, to eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, both small and great."

And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. And the rest were slain by the sword that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh. Revelation 19:11-21

Well, that wouldn't be any different from the thousands of people who were burned at the cross in the Middle Ages for being heretics, would it? What goes around comes around, yeah?
