Personally, I think its sexualising a too-young child to take them to a store like that, let alone let her buy things from there. If she has 'done' VC as a kid, where would she look forward to shopping as an adult?!
If she needs a bra, there are many more places to go that do not sexualise the concept of childrens underwear. Because at 12, thats all it is - underwear, not lingerie - that is for sexually mature adults.
If her friends are 'all shopping there' then I'm afraid I feel sorry for them. Their parents are obviously treating them as young adults, which they are simply not. Allow them to be kids just a little longer please! They have the rest of their lives to be adults.

No, not personally, but after reading some of the responses about VS's more conservative undergarments, and the parents having final say, I can't really say for sure whether I think it's "right" or "wrong". I'm feeling wishy washy about that..

But I wouldn't take my daughter in there to shop for her underthings. Even a pair of their cute sleep pants with VS on the label has the connotation (for me) that it is sexy-wear.

I'm thinking of it this way-- we all know Osh-Kosh-B'Gosh makes great quality childrens' clothes. But if I saw that they were selling adult clothes, I most likely would not be interested in buying them. They have a reputation for quality, yes, but also an association as a childrens', and childrens' ONLY, clothes brand. VS is the same for me, only obviously the opposite associations.

Most likely, some of (or maybe just ONE of) her friends have been allowed to do this, and they feel all grown up about it, so she wants to have that taste of feeling grown up herself. In the end it's your choice; you can make it into a wonderful bonding time and preparation for impending womanhood with your daughter, or it could be a very peer-influenced and kind of sleazy, over-sexualizing thing for her. It's going to be what you make of it.

I would let her go into the store and try and help her pick out a age friendly style. Just recently my tomboy daughter has decided to be more feminine. Although the store is geared for adult women they do have some very conservative and pretty styles. Just keep it simple she probably is doing what every girl does at that age and is trying to feel more like a girl. Even at 31 I believe have pretty under garments helps with the ego. Keep the lines of comunication open and you shouldn't have a problem .

I would wonder what the need is to purchase extravagant lingerie. It is very expensive for something that no one should see at age 12. I would probably let her purchase some bikini underwear with her own money if it was something she wanted because all the other girls do it and she wants to see what all the hype is about. Plus I know they are better quality and would last awhile, so shopping there a couple of times would be okay, but it definately wouldn't be a ritual.

This is a good question. No, I wouldn't!!!! I think a child should stay a child; she does not even need to have any idea of what being "sexy" is! When I was 12, I was still playing with my dolls! (lol, because nowadays girls stop playing with dolls by 7 if they even play with them) Also if it's for bras, you can get it from Target or Wal-Mart. She isn't even a teen yet, but now Victorias Secret has PINK, the teenage store!

I personally would not allow my daughter to purchase from there until about the age of 17 or 18

If you shop Victoria's Secret, you should help make the decisions. Underclothing is a big deal to adolescents. There is sexy lingerie there, but the clerks are also trained to fit bras. If your daughter needs a little help with sizes or styles that are age appropriate, there will be a knowledgable salesperson to help her in a discreet way. After she knows her size, you could order onlilne or from their catalog.

I got stuff from there when I was that age. Just cotton underwear, bras, and pjs. Obviously she shouldn't be getting crotchless underwear or anything like that :) Go with her (you'll want to control the cost anyway - it's very pricey now...and she may need help picking out bras). Another good place to try that has cute stuff and is less expensive is Gap Body.

once you specify 3 paragraphs... it makes me think of that this could be for a toddler progression classification task or the like. So i will answer yet not in paragraph form. It relies upon thoroughly on the area. If my 12 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous daughter had already stepped forward breasts and mandatory a top high quality bra, we'd examine Victoria's secret for that, yet it somewhat is not the only place to discover intense high quality undergarments. i does not in all probability ban Victoria's secret simply by fact it somewhat is too beautiful, simply by fact they sell stunning underclothes too. in case your 12 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous needs stunning underclothes, odds are it somewhat is basically for her so do not freak out and ask her who's going to be seeing the underclothes. it is her worst concern. i might honestly escort my daughter yet i might attempt to have relaxing with it by using pointing out issues that i think of are tremendously. in this technique it somewhat is needed for the ensure to not think of of the youngster as their little toddler. i does not enable the youngster to positioned on for occasion, see by using black lace, yet something with a lacey element or a print is advantageous. The undergarment figuring out to purchase adventure could be a large thank you to open up verbal substitute consisting of your daughter and make her sense gentle with you. it somewhat is unquestionably the main needed element in a dating with a daughter. whilst it somewhat is something larger like dating, you certainly need her to return to you and ask what you think of. underclothes figuring out to purchase, as stupid because it sounds, will prepare for that.

theres nothing wrong with it, its just a lingerie store. and if there wearing bras then why not.

it just depends on the underwear situatuion.
i know some moms dont like their girls wearing thongs until a certain age but either way the sell them at every store its just that at victorias secret there...sexier i guess.

but it depends on you and what you want and dont want for them.

but personally i dont think there is anything wrong with them buying stuff there. they'll get better quality bras thats for sure.
