Do you mean flat screen or flat panel?
Flat screen is still a CRT TV and is dep because of the picture tube. It just has a flat front surface, rather than a slightly curved front.
If you are looking for a flat panel, you have to decide plasma vs LCD.
I have a 40" LCD JVC. Its good. So are some of the others.
Just be careful, some of the cheaper ones have a lower resolution, or they are enhanced definition rather than high definition.
High definition will soon be the standard.

i might stay faraway from Sony Bravia...numerous issues and returns at present.. (Sony high quality is a lot down.) Gaming may be a concern on LED and liquid crystal exhibit television's by using sluggish reaction time. inspite of a severe refresh fee, you'll be able to get some lag.. severe game enthusiasts like plasma, which has an severe viewing perspective, speedy reaction time... whether, they're often forty inches or better..A 32 inch television in user-friendly terms might require 720P. no longer lots distinction till you get to 37 inches or better.. then you particularly want 1080p....
