I really wanna go to a university without getting caught up in a whole ton of student loans and the school only gave me $1500. It costs $15000 to go there... any ideas... and i already know the fastweb site and fafsa... I'm working on those, but thanks.

Here's what I would do...

First of all look into a college which is in your state. I know that going to a good school or out of state is a big deal but than again it's not so much with an undergraduate degree. However, it is a big deal with graduate school so it really does not matter so much where your undergraduate degree is coming from. So if I were you I would stay in my state because it would so much cheaper and of course close to home.
The best start out would be with a community college. I'm sure even your FAFSA money could cover your entire tuition and fees for community college. You can complete your first two years at community level and then take a transfer to four year institution. Now that might get expensive but hey if you do proper research on grants and scholarships than I'm sure you can pull up something. Apply for FAFSA a head of time and then go speak to your financial aid office at your university. Ask them about UNIVERSITY GRANTS, I think every school has it and you have to inquire about it. If you combine your University grant and FAFSA grants than you should have no problems. It would cover quite a few things.

As far as living in concerned, I would get a part time job. It does get a bit hectic with school and work but I think you'll be fine. If possible, try to find a job in campus. It would great if you can get a Lab Assistant job at a computer lab. You get paid to sit around and do your homework. It's the best job :) !!

Okay, I think this is enough for now. Get back to me if you have more questions or need help with this.

Explore other scholarships. There are thousands available that no one ever uses. Go to your library and consult the resources they have to research available scholarships and grants.

Speak with your school counselor and the financial aid office at the school you will be attending. There are work/study programs and student employment available.

You will have to put out some effort, but it should pay off in the end.
