No, the world will never end by anything we could do. It will go on and on pretty much forever. What could be at issue is the quality of life and the breadth of wildlife we know today.
People and flora and fauna will evolve to deal with the changes over time. It just won't be the same as you are accustomed to.

you are very optimistic
many predictions are for the years between 2012 and 2020
Nostradamus, the mayas ,Egyptions Jesus ,and Terrance Mckennas time wave who put the magnetic out put of the world in to a computor projection that stopped at zero in 2012,this stops the globe and it starts turning into
the other direction ,the resulting change of currents will turn the planet into a giant washing machine cleaning the surface
then there are the meteor showers you mentioned ,the gulf of Mexico is the result of one that would have made life exstinct for a while ,this would result in an other ice age if the globe is covered in dust
then there are natural disasters
Volcanos are coming to life everywhere
the weather has giant storms like hurricanes ,tornados ,tidal waves ,earth quackes
a shift of the earth crust ,like a changing of the poles
under Anrarctica were found fosilized tropical plants indication the pole must have been in a different place then (the mainland atlantis is thought to be under it )
Now we got Global warming to contend with (see my answer on global warming)
and the USA appears to be gunning for a global nuclear conflict .it is most likely that this will get us first looking at present politics
but the planet will probably survive unless humanities bombs result it to be knocked out of its orbit
so many ends to choose from
if it wasnt so serious it would be rediculous
meanwhile enjoy life .and make the most of it at least we are all in the same boat

Well in order for the world to "end" something would need to destroy the actual physical planet. So, no the actual globe is not going to end. However, due to global warming there will be increased natural disasters. So the inhabitants and surface of the earth will be greatly affected.
But no, global warming will not cause the Earth to end/explode/vaporize.

No. But it will be very bad.
There will be coastal flooding and damage to agriculture. Rich countries can cope, but it will cost huge sums of money and reduce the standard of living. Poor countries can't afford to cope and some people (not all) will die of starvation.
It's not necessary to exaggerate the effects of global warming, like, "we're all gonna die". The reality is bad enough.

Think about it for a minute......it survived warmer periods than what they are forecasting for the next thousand years. All of that carbon in the atmosphere used to be crude oil, gas and coal. And before that it was dinaosaurs and the plant life they ate for food. And before THAT the very same carbon was in the atmosphere, as CO2! And earth survived all of that quite nicely I would say.
