Men are not the rulers of there house. If in the event that a man states he is, I will call him a liar. Whether its a marriage or just a relationship, both man and woman are equal. I am a retired worker and during the 30 plus years of marriage, have I ever once said I am king of the castle. My wife does just as much as I if not more and then she would say the same thing about me. So the way I see it, its 50/50 in everything.

It's the person with the most POWER! If you can give the look that says 'sit the f down' or whatever then you are the ruler of the house!

Well, Paul says that the man is the head . Peter says the woman is to be in subjection to the man.

Exactly what does money have to do with anything?

The woman, if you read the Bible exactly what it says, has a much better role than the man.

By the way, you CAN NOT be equal! There has to be one who leads.

If you are in business with a friend as 50 50 partners each one having equal say, how do you get anything done?

Yes, absolutely. I allow my husband to be the boss.

Seriously though, isn't marriage supposed to be a partnership? Why should anyone person be "the boss" or "the ruler". Couples should sit down together and discuss what needs to be done and compromise on how/who/when/where to do it. That's the best way for both people to have a satisfying and mutually respectful and enjoyable relationship.

The man is the head of the house - this doesnt mean that he is the dictator of the house. He will ultimately be held responsible for what happens in his houe. it has nothing to do with money. he is to oversee his house in the same manner that Christ oversees the church. When the man fulfills his role properly, it is actually a great benefit to the wife. this takes a huge burden off her shoulders and makes him responsible.

For example - my wife manages a medical facility. the doctors make much more money than her, however, she is in charge. She is the one responsible for any mismanagement of the facilty not the doctors. she oversees the operation of everything. it has nothing to do with who makes more money.

Depends on the house and the man. There are good rulers and there are tyrants. A good ruler actually serves.

Men and women have different duties and both of them are rulers according to that. In raising up kids the father duties are different than the mother but both are complementary and so on.
