This is a phrase used in Richard Dawkins' recent book, "The God Delusion."

He uses that phrase because he wants to point out how similar the idea of a religious god is to silly things like pixies and fairies. He's trying to make people look differently at their long-held beliefs and question them just at they would non-religious things.

I'm not saying he's right, I'm just telling you where the phrase comes from.

God is not a He and She does not live in the sky. Men won't allow it, unless it is to be thier sex slaves. Good thing God is so patient and kind and long suffering eh? I would tend to be simmering with furious anger by now. Yes Indeed!

I think one of the big problems we have with God is that we do not have a pronoun for God. We keep saying Him. God should be described with a special pronoun so that we don't say 'he" or "him" The moment we start calling God with these pronouns then we equate God with humans. We are so limited in out thinking, because of our human condition. Can you imagine an ant? If the ant could think, it could only think in terms of other ants.

It's a simple equation, meant to equate the idea of an all-powerful creator with fictional, non-existent "supernatural" things. The inference of course being that neither does god.

I have asked questions about God and I also get the response from Atheists too about the "fairy" thing. I guess we just have to laugh it off and not let it bother us. Stupidity. Pure stupidity.....

This is new to me. Are you sure you didn't hit your head or perhaps hungover from last night? Take a couple of Tylenols and go lay down.

Its usually ignorant atheists like Richard Dawkins who use such terms in order to cause offense . God is a omnipresent being which we can never fully understand.
