I shake my head over some of these answers..First of all you don't breed a male dog.. You stud him out. To answer your question.. After you had all the right test done. Make sure you have a healthy dog there. He should be a year old. AKC won't registers puppies if the male is under 8 months old.
NO breeder will use your dog with out the proper papers from your vet. So you need to get that settle first.

Not until after he's 2 when you can have his OFA and eye CERT tests performed to make sure he's a quality stud.
BUT - If you don't know the answer to this question, then you shouldn't be breeding at all!

There are many more things to consider then age. Is the dog show quality? A champion? Were the parents champions? Was he and parents tested for genetic diseases? If you can't answer yes to ALL of these, do not have your dog create puppies.

6 months, roughly, but it's not a good idea to breed before 18 months to 2 years. The pup could be shooting blanks or could throw out some runty or inferior pups if bred too young.

At 1 year they are sexually mature, but when it comes to breeding, it is best to wait until year two, so the pups can be healthier.

Have your dog neutered. You aren't an established breeder, and there are enough pets being destroyed every day in shelters and pounds. If you do it properly, you won't make any money, and it's not a good get-rich-quick idea. Just neuter your pet, enjoy him, and leave it at that, please.
