You need to check every fuse in the vehicle fuse box(es). Most vehicles use at least two fuses to supply power to the radio; one for constant power and one for switched power. Often the factory radio will work without the constant power fuse, but after-market radios always need both. In many vehicles the constant power fuse is shared with other accessories and won't necessarily be labeled as a radio fuse. Test the other constant power accessories in your vehicle: cig lighter, dome light, door chime, power locks to see if any aren't working. Check all the fuses, including any fuse box under the hood.

You're pretty new to this, eh? Do yourself a favor and get it installed by a pro(ha ha!) at your local Best Buy or Circuit City. I say 'do yourself a favor' so you don't burn your car down! Please!!!
