Why is my Scanner,model 2400 not compatible with Microsoft Vista?

I purchased a Hewlett Packard scanner model 2400 in September 2006,I have now purchased new computer that is running on Microsoft Vista,I have been informed that my scanner is incompatible,how can I remedy this without having to buy new scanner?

look if a vista driver is available otherwise wait for sometime.

I had a similar problem.Go to HP website and download a vista driver for it.
