I think this is a bad idea. I am yet to see an employer letting you walk away so leniently. Letting you pick a subject of your own choice. Also, if they provide you a topic other than those you are prepared for, you done :(
So better to be generally prepared for likely topics of interest to your employer.

I am not sure what type of interview you mean.

Instead, the best topic you can prepare about is

1. Explaining about your background and present status, and your achievements, strength & weakness .

All these put together in a max. 2 minutes slot.

This will be the topic a person in the interview will be interested to know about.

2. Any specific area of your skill which you are strong in .

This will help to understand others about your strength and your stuff.

All the best. For other things read newspaper or if possible watch good channels and know some current topics that will also help you .

Hi,
If they ask you to choose a topic of your choice then you can choose from the following:

a. My Favorite destination - If I am paid an all expenses trip where would I like to go.
b. Students and Politics
c. India 2020 - what is needed to be done to achieve that goal
d. Indian educational system
e. What can the corporate sector do, to improve the poor sector in India.
f. Do we need unions in IT sectors -- Remember don't talk aganist the IT industry in this topic.

It depends the field you selected.,Every interview has difference and the quality changes as per the atmosphere.....be confident.&..straight forward..collect possible information on the subject on which you want to make an opening..relax

its very difficult to tell because u havent provided enough info. i mean which company r u gonna give interview for...is it a cal centre...a private company. if which sector does the company cater. may be banking, accounts....etc
so accordign to that we can decide to let u know what to talk. and how to talk.
