It seems like there is so much pressure to get one. Every guy seems to have one. I would only get one to try to make myself fit in. I wouldn't do anything for that girl, as I probably wouldn't like her. The problem is that I'm not interested at all in actually being in love with someone. I view it as uneccessary and something I don't need. Sure, I have been attracted to girls, but it was more of a sexual attraction than an interest in actually falling in love with that person. I'm not the type of guy who likes showing his emotions and I would be very embarassed doing something like getting flowers for a girl or anything like that. I could not even tell my parents I love them, as I would be embarassed to. They have done nothing bad to me, but I think I am incapable of love. I swear I could never do something like that.

I'm really shy, so I have never asked a girl out before. I don't even think I have any regular friends who are girls.

You don't have to have a girlfriend unless you want one. But I think you will be missing out on a lot of life experiences if you completely shut yourself off from love.Sure, love can hurt badly. But it can be the most amazing thing to experience. It's what makes us feel alive. We learn so much from love, even from the bad experiences. Don't close yourself off from love. It can lead to a lonely and sad existence.

don't get a girlfriend just to fit in. that is unfair to you and unfair to her. i understand what you mean about the pressure to have one though. just wait for that girl that makes your heart beat a little faster to come into your life. and when that happens the best ways to make her warm up to you are: talk to her like a normal person... girls are the same as guys (we're not all about shopping and clothes etc., and you'll find that when we're with our friends we talk about the same things that guys talk about...) be confident, be yourself, treat her well (lend her pencils, make sure you hold doors, help her with homework etc...) and i'm sure that she'll start to notice you. all girls just look for guys that are caring and confident. don't worry about her thinking that you're wierd for doing stuff for her.. i'll bet she'll just think that it's sweet.
