Hi,
Presoaking beans is not neccessary. Be sure to sort through and get the bad ones out, rinse well, and put on to slow cook and season to your taste. You can do this on stove or use a crock pot (slow cooker) I was always told that soaking the beans helped to make them tender and helped to cut cooking time. They will turn out fine, even if not soaked. My G-Grandmother always put a pinch of baking soda in them too. It was suppose to help reduce the "gas" effect of the beans, but I can't tell where that actually ever worked. (Must of been an old wives tale)LOL Good Luck! Now, what's for dinner? :)

You don't need to presoak your beans. It cuts down on cooking time, but so does boiling them. Put the beans in a pot with 8 times the water, bring to the boil for 2 minutes, then simmer for 1 hour. Whatchya makin'? :O)

Put one pound of beans in 8 cups of water. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and tightly cover for one hour. This will bring you to the point where you would have been had you soaked them overnight. I, personally, would not put beans in a microwave as they will probably explode.

Put extra salt into the water. And for the first hour of boiling, I would pour out the water and add fresh water about 2 times after its boiled for about 20 min.

You don't have to pre-soak beans, it just helps cut the cooking time. If you put them in your slow cooker, place them on high rather than low and your outcome will be the same. Also, since you didn't soak them, make sure you remember to wash & sort them and get out the "ucky" ones out before putting in your crock.

Cook them in a pressure cooker for about 30 - 40 minutes until almost done, then continue with your recipe as per normal.

Just boil the beans in water until they become soft. They are also easier to digest this way as the enzyme which causes gas is neutralized.

Bring them to a boil...simmer one minute...cover and let set off the burner for an hour. Drain and cook with fresh water (or whatever) according to your recipe.
