On my Mac I have the screen saver selected to show my photo library. After the alotted time the screen goes blank but the screen saver does not appear, what am I doing wrong.

Either your iPhoto Library is empty, or the screensaver can't find it. Have you moved, renamed, or otherwise modified your Library or any of the folders or files in it using the Finder? This is a very bad idea, and can cause all sorts of weirdness with iPhoto and everything related to it. Assuming you really do have pictures in your iPhoto Library, try rebuilding it. How to that depends on your version of iPhoto, so check out the link below.
