The best things to do:

-Get an HIV Case Manager: This is someone who can help you through the government and nonprofit aid systems. Available through Public Health Units and nonprofit agencies.
-Start seeing an HIV/Infectious Disease Specialist: You will need a doctor who knows how to look for early warning signs, monitor your bloodwork closely, and keep you on the ideal medication for your situation.
-Protect others: Tell your partner(s) to get tested, stop having unprotected sex with others, don't share drug needles.
-Protect yourself: Your health has just become a lot more fragile. Take extra precautions like getting a yearly flu shot, washing your hands more regularly, getting tested for Tuberculosis, etc.

Some of us actually watch our step and avoid getting HIV, so it isn't even on most of our radar screens. The only way you can get it now is shear stupidity.

Probably feel really stupid while doing as much research on how much time I have to live. Prepare for death in the next 8 years. And try to educate those that are exposed to catching it too.
