When considering hotels in Aruba don't forget to look at some of the timeshare resorts webpages. I do not encourage people to buy timeshares but if you go to their websites (members bulletin board) , you will find people who cannot use their week and will offer to rent it out many times for just their maintenence fee. (as low as $500.00 for a week. Living room, kitchen, bedroom, balcony, bathroom, ample closet and drawer space... much more than you will get in a hotel.)

The advantage of doing this is you avoid a 17.5% "government hospitality tax" imposed on the use of hotel rooms. So if your hotel room costs $250.00 a night then you save over $40 a night($280/wk) in hidden costs.

I have used this place (Playa Linda) for almost 20 years now and find it's facilities in good shape and a relaxed atmosphere..... just something to consider.

Where this plays in dramatically is the week of Christmas/ New Years when lodging costs on the island double or tripple.
