I live in one of the smaller and poorer counties in Florida, and like most the rest of North Florida we have an illegal problem. It is also difficult with me, as I am a probation officer and had to learn Spanish to properly do my job. Because of this I sometimes ride along with the Sheriff's Department to help translate. One of these ride-alongs were in response to suspicious activity, which ended up being three mexicans (I honestly can't tell the difference between the Latin groups, forgive me) peddling methamphetamines. Instead of arresting the three, he handcuffed them and put them in the back of the car and drove them north to the edge of the county. When we got there, me told me to tell them if they came into the county again he would kill them.
This initially shocked me, but I also remembered his character and position. He was doing what he felt was best for the county, and said it afterwards. I'm starting to think he is right, though.

Knowing his character and his is position, I doubt he would have killed the men. The court cost to "do nothing" to these people, as well as the jail-time, feeding, and such are more than a poorer county can handle.

In identifying them as immigrants, none of them spoke english, nor did any of them have any sort of ID what-so-ever. That is all the information there was to go with at the time that I know of.

Personally......I would hate to be a police officer. To be given a risky job and then have your hands tied behide your back. It must be frustrating to know the system and see how many criminals just walk because they know how to work it. Darned if you do and if you don't. People screaming "do your job" and others forbidding you to do it. If you do do it....there's someone complaining how you did it or how a split second decision later studied....would have been better.
They have let this illegal immigration issue get so out of hand that if you're a true blue American and your government has failed as badly as it has for us.......I'm sure there's moments where it's hard not to think about taking matters in your own hands. It's a drug dealer and you want them off the streets and it's an illegal to boot and they'll probably walk faster than some kid with a roach.
Very topsy tervy world we're in right now.

Did he do the "right" thing? No.
Did he do what he felt would do the most good? Probably.
I live in a rural county where money is tight and the county is always hitting up the cities, which are really just small towns, for jail fees and prosecution fees etc.
You friend is taking the step that he feels is the lessor of two evils. He can pass the buck and kick them into the next county where hopefully they can deal with the problem better, or he can make the arrest and rack up several thousand dollars in expenses for his own county for not much visible results. These three people probably would not have been able to bail out so you have all the processing fees and all the housing and food and clothing and medical... to pay for until you get them to court and convict them which means the county also has to pay for their room and board until the sentence is completed.
What's really sad is no one, probably, will say anything about this practice until someone gets hurt or killed after being dropped off and then you friend will get arrested and convicted of a civil rights violation because the lawful thing to do is make the arrest and book them into the local facility.

What happens if they do come back? Sooner or later you will run across people who just don't give a flying F. I don't really expect you to answer that, but it is something you might want to consider. Perhaps their pride will demand retaliation. There is something else here that I don't understand too. In my city we have illegals everywhere. They are the community for the most part. But when they are charged with a crime they are also prosecuted and given prison sentences just like anybody else. Why are there areas of the country where this is not so? Places where illegals are let go for any crime because they are illegal? I don't get it. They are not above the law. And in those places why should anyone be shocked that the police or the citizens take the law into their own hands and deliver some measure of justice?

I'm not sure the officers solution was the correct one but depending on the laws in your county his hands may be tied. Until we get stricter laws and a way to get these illegals out of the country for good they will continue to behave in the manner you just addressed. Last weekend in our area (North Carolina) we had a man and his 9 year old son killed in a hit and run car accident by an illegal who had been arrested two previous times for driving under the influence. My question is: Why is this man still in the US? The answer was: the police department in the county where this happened doesn't have the funding to check the background of criminals much less the authority or the means to deport him.
In other words, until our local, state and US governments do something about this (which they won't) US citizens will continue to be the victims of crimes by these illegals.

What are we as citizens to do? The Government is not protecting us we are living where there are increased violence which is brought on by illegal aliens who have already broke the law so they don't CARE about our laws. Many of these people are drug smugglers so it is either them or us. Illegal aliens don't care about what other illegal aliens do... they don't even try to feel bad about the laws that they have broke. Chances are if they were selling the meth they were also doing it...that is one bad drug!
Also the cops can't arrest an illegal to where anything can be done about the illegal aliens. The cops can't send them back...to make matters worse illegal aliens have more rights than we do here in the US.
I sympathize with the cops.

I'm Hispanic, and it saddens me that my people are the ones who are committing these crimes. As for your questions, couldn't the officer bookked them in a different county. For instance, my sister works at the court and she sometimes says that when officers give out tickets they usually send them to a different court because the judge at her court dismisses the ticket and they get fed up with that. couldn't you guys do the same, but at a different county?

I do not see a problem with the situation was handled.
I Live In a small town in Oklahoma we MANY illegal Mexicans in our area. They do not have a driver's license or auto insurance, which would be a problem if involved in an accident.
The Mexicans in my town are often found drunk in public. They are making my town less safe for my children by being drunk and driving that way. I would like for the officer's in our area to behave the way yours did.

Given that our own country refuses to deal effectively with the illegal immigration problem, I feel he dealt with the matter just fine. They we're trying to sell methamphetamines to our citizens for crying out loud. Why should we waste our tax dollars to jail them here? Hopefully, the threat scared the hell out of those scumbags.

The deal is illegal immigrants commit crimes, and in this case
they need to be deported, or jailed, there are no other remedies
under the law, there have been many cases everywhere in the
world where Policemen and Women have been the victims
of Illegal immigrants taking part in crime, so hey!!! get rid of
them............................they are only good if they are truly there
to work if they are in your country to deal drugs they must
be dealt with in the most stringent way possible..........................

Based on the information given, how do you know this had to do with immigration?
Just because the 3 arrested were "Latin" doesn't mean they were illegal aliens or even immigrants.
They might have been born in Wichita, Kansas or Chicago, Illinois, unless you neglected to put this info in your post.
By the way, I am anti-illegal, support securing the border and deporting all illegals, just so someone doesn't get the idea that I am defending illegal aliens.
