I have always wondered what would constitute an objective communique from God; after all, some people hear silence in a room and others hear the ticking of clocks, strange whispers, boards creaking and the like. Some, like me, hear the suggestion of voices that they can't attribute to the air conditioner, washing machine, settling house, etc. ; do some people hear these voices and then conclude that God is trying to talk to them? Can some people actually hear things that others cannot? Or see things that others cannot?

I attribute the voices to the "house ghost" partly in jest, but I can never make out any words. If I were able to make out words and gain intelligence from a disembodied voice, I would either be hearing from God, or perhaps I'd be schizophrenic. But this points up rather crudely the idea of seeing or hearing God in a human sense. More appropriately to the idea of modern religious thought would be the recognition of God in things we take to be everyday things and normal occurrences. There are many people who see significance where others do not. Are the others wrong or blind? Or is the "seer" creating something based on his or her esoteric vision? Who can say absolutely? If you think God is silent and invisible, then you do not hear or see him (or her! or it! or dare I say THEM!). And the requirements for seeing and hearing God seem to be a more open mind, rather than glasses or a hearing aid. But then again, maybe it is the house settling or refraction of light in the sky instead of a miraculous rainbow. It is man's folly that he thinks he has got on top of everything and can now look down upon the universe as if he understands it all. Faith seems to be a necessary part of admitting other possibilities, not dogmatic faith that closes its mind once a few words are let in, but faith to look and admit there are things we do not understand. I contend that we each can see and hear different things, but that the idea that one sees or hears God is a purely subjective concept, since it cannot be communicated objectively 100% to someone with different viewpoints on things.

On the point of semantics ("programmed" God) , I'll remain silent. That is a different idea altogether and is beside the point. I'm not into the infinite mirrors idea of the Creator this morning.

Women are programmed by religion to be seen, but not heard. Women are taught to always give way to a mans judgment, even if it is wrong. It will be dooms day when woman refuse to be silenced any longer. In the end it shall speak.

we all have GOD within us and in our spirit, God is always trying to let you know he or she is there, buy giving us the small whispers when you get a good or bad vibe about something. The problem is most people don't listen to those whispers and do what they want even with that small whisper from God giving you that bad feeling, but we just don't heed it. Every time you get those whispers, that is God trying to guide you, so in a since God is not silent, we has humans just block him out, hes been with you since conception, Start listening to those small whispers you get good or bad feelings about something, That will let you know God is there and always has been.

god is here and He is not silent. Just because you can't hear Him doesn't mean that He isn't speaking....

He has given us His Son, His spirit, His word. He shows Himself to us in His creation. He reveals His law to us in our hearts.

don't wait til doomsday to get to know Him!!

god bless

The most important truth I could ever tell you is this: God loves you, and He yearns for you to come to know Him personally and closely. God's promise is true for you and for all who truly seek Him: "I have loved you with an everlasting love" (Jeremiah 31:3).

How do I know God loves you? I know it because almost 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ died on the cross for you. He came down from heaven for one reason: to make it possible for us to go to heaven. He did this by becoming the final sacrifice for our sins. When He died, all our sins were placed on Him, and He took the death and hell we deserve. If you had been the only person on earth who needed to be saved, Jesus Christ still would have been willing to die for you. God loves you that much!

What should you do? Simply respond to what Jesus did for you by asking Him to come into your life. If a friend came to your house and knocked on your door, what would you do? You would go to the door and open it, and then invite them in.

And the same is true with Jesus. Right now He is knocking at the door of your heart. By a simple prayer of faith invite Him to come into your life—and He will. Jesus said, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in" (Revelation 3:20). This is God's promise to you.

What do you mean programmed? That means there is a higher being than god.
One of the silliest question I've ever read.

If God was programmed, then he is not worthy to be worshiped as the greatest - the one who programmed God is the greater.

The answer to your question is NO, GOD WAS NOT PROGRAMMED AND CANNOT BE PROGRAMMED NOR DOES HE PROGRAMM ANY MAN!!

No. I think we are the one initially programmed incapable of seeing Him until such time when our understanding of spiritual law becomes absolute.
