One parent has to be christened. If you're not and there's not another parent then the vicar will make you go through religious training and be christened first. There has to be a reasonable expectation that you're going to raise your baby as a child of God and provide the proper religious training before the vicar will take that step.

You asked in the wrong category. This is genealogy, the study of family trees. The only things that matter to us about a christening is that all three names (maiden name for the mother) are spelled right and the date is correct.

You could ask again in
Society & Culture -> Religion & Spirituality
but it would be simpler to ask the minister. You would avoid non-C of E people sniping at you.

I cannot believe you would consider this. I thought you were enlightend, not being christened. Ah well, the brainwashing seems to have struck.

And yes, they will probably christen him. He has future potential as a donor.

Mostly yes - but it depends on the vicar ultimately.

They are far more lenient these days, but go and have a chat with him, they are normally quite accommodating.
