I have always had a little struggle with anxiety and slight depression over the years but at 24 Its gotten to be more than I can handle. It has been a year since I split with my wife and lost her and my child. I had a wonderful marriage till the discovery she was cheating (alot). It has got to the point now where I can be out with friends and I am not the center of attention at all, in fact I feel like the guy that is just there. When confronted by interaction I get anxiety that is overwhelming. I cannot think straight when this happens. A smile isn't a smile and when I get one out it doesn't feel real. I am losing friends because who wants to be around someone who is so messed up. I used to be this social butterfly and interactive with people now to depress the anxiety I have resulted to being mute. I tried Lexapro for 3 days and hated the feeling of not being me, the stuck on a plain no ups no downs feel. Help!!! for a life like this isn't worth living especially when u are alone.

Life is still worth living. You are suffering from depression which is a medical condition (chemical problem within the brain) so don't ever feel ashamed of admitting depression. It will also lead to wanting to keep away from others etc.
Speak to your doctor....there are so many medications to try. It can take several medications before you find one that is good for you and doesn't make you feel terrible. If your family doctor is not as big a help to you and you'd like, ask for a referral to a psychiatrist. They will adjust medications to get the right combo. Contrary to popular belief you don't lie down on a couch and talk out your problems. They will prescribe meds and if you need to speak to someone to talk things over you'll be referred to a psychologist.
There's help out there...don't stop after taking just one type of medication.

Lexapro sucks along with every other anti depressant, try to get yourself xanax or valium (benzodiazipine) class drugs they are addictive but who gives a f***. they work and make you feel good. I believe i have similar problems, I used to go out but now i just go to work, come home and if anyone tries to tell me a story about how well something went or my girlfriend did this and that I just give em a fake smile and walk off to my room, cause the fact is i just don't care about their s*** or any other happy go lucky story they've got to offer, the only thing I like is valium, temazepam and if I can get opium based pain killers all the better. I'm young 23 but alone I've got friends but at the end of the day i'm alone. Anyway antidepressants put a bubble over your brain so your not happy, not sad but you just feel emotionless, weird or worse. Just go from doctor to doctor until you get valium, xanax or even temazepam, they'll help ya. see ya dude.

you adore the international. A sin which could be repented of. 1Jn_2:15 Love not the international, neither the flaws that are in the international. If any guy love the international, the affection of the daddy isn't in him. not basically a sin, yet a data you're actually not between the daddy's chosen few. you have not surrendered all to Him. One could be 'switched over'. they could spiritually "die" to self, and be possessed of Him. To be a real BELIEVER possible be arranged to forsake ALL: Mar 10:29 And Yahshua spoke back and pronounced, Verily I say unto you, there's no guy that hath left residing house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mom, or spouse, or toddlers, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, Mar 10:30 yet he shall obtain an hundredfold now in this time, homes, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and young ones, and lands, with persecutions; and in the international to come returned eternal existence. Mar 10:31 yet many that are first would be final; and the final first. once you stand for actuality you get hated via the international: Joh 15:18 If the international hate you, ye comprehend that it hated me until now it hated you. Joh 15:19 If ye have been of the international, the international could extremely like his own: yet because of the fact ye are actually not of the international, yet I certainly have chosen you out of the international, as a result the international hateth you. a real Believer is "not of the international".

Well at least you realize what is happening to you. I think you should reach out to a counselor and try to map things out. Sometimes talking to someone who won't judge you is good. They will help you pinpoint exactly why you are feeling this way. I am sorry to hear that about your wife and child..... that sounds depressing and then to find out she was cheating!!!! You need to hold your head up and continue to be a good dad and don't let it get the best of you. (I know thats easier said than done)Why don't you go out on a few dates? Maybe a female friend will help you get over "her". Most of all, LOVE yourself and be yourself! Good things will come to you. You seem like a great guy, just be patient and get over this hump. Good luck!

You are going through a very difficult moment and I can imagine it is not easy, but you should focus on this being just a low phase of your life. Things might soon improve. Go see your doctor and ask for a different medication.
Hope you get better soon.

If you want to keep trying meds, try something else. I suggest you "Get Real" with Dr. Phil and work through his Self Matters book. You might need to reprogram your brain and the messages you are sending yourself.

And hey, welcome to living - get in touch with yourself - and accept that you are human.

you need to take up a practice like martial arts.
or yoga. you need exercise every day.
and a discipline that will help bring you back to who you are.
it's ok to not be the center of attention.
learn to meditate to find your center.
