when i type new words into a sentence, the new characters replace those i typed before instead of inserting them into the slot i want.

example:
"i'm home."
if i want to insert the word "going" between "i'm" and "home", the word "going" will replace the word "home" and the sentence will be "i'm going".

how can i fix this problem?
thank you.

You can see at the bottom of the Word screen if the letters OVR are there.
If they are, you have the Insert key on (right side of the keyboard).
Just hit it.
Hope I helped.

I often - but not always - have that same problem. Drives me nuts.

When that happens, I have to insert the cursor where I'll want the new word to go. Then click enter to drop the rest of the line down one line.

Bring the cursor back up to where I want to insert the word and type the word there. Then go back down to the rest of the sentence and put the curser at the start. Hit backspace to bring it back up beside the new word.

If there's a better way, I'll be interested in finding it. Going to add this question to my watchlist and see what answers you get.
