Well I suppose the fact that the club was founded by Irish immigrants means that although based in Glasgow the club itself is (or was) to all intents an purposes an Irish club.

I don't think though that you can say that they only sing Irish songs as they do sing a lot of non sectarian based songs.

Don't get me wrong there are a few mindless morons who think that the singing of bigoted songs is acceptable (and not just Celtic fans, but Rangers fans also) But I think most sensible people realise how wrong it is.

Some think it is acceptable because their fathers did it, and their fathers did it etc etc. It is almost as if they sing the songs, not because they themselves are bigoted, but because they think it is acceptable.

Hopefully in the future it won't be a problem, but I would also like to say that is the singing of 'Flower Of Scotland' by Scottish fans not also bigoted because of what it says about the English?

Surely though it is not a case of them singing Irish songs that is wrong, but it is the case of singing songs that are bigoted.

I am a Rangers fan, but I am not going to say that the Celtic fans are worse or more bigoted because, lets be honest, they can be as bad as each other.

Not that I expect logic from you soap-dodging halfwits but I'd like to point out that The Wise One's answer is nonsense.

"is it not also strange how they answer a question with a question all the time..???
they say thats a sign of ignorance..

I presume that you do know that ? denotes you are asking a question so by your own definition you are admitting you are ignorant. Which is no surprise.

Cause there idiots is why! It riles up the fans of other teams in the legue the same way Rangers fans sing god save the queen and rule britania. As a Dundee utd fan representing most of scottish football (the top two down) we are ashamed of them and hope they do get into the english leagues as that is where they will be found out!

they dont sign scottish songs because they all think they are part of some anti conspiracy, and that the I.R.A (IRISH REPULICAN ARSELICKERS)ARE HERO'S TO THEIR CAUSE.
I wonder if they would sign their praises if their children or relies got blown up.

Celtics are in America - so who cares cause everyone here came from somewhere else anyways.

But good question, never thought of that.
Maybe whoever started the celtics awas from Ireland.
I believe Irish is more popular here than Scottish.
Like St. Pattys here is like Valentines or Easter.......
