my 6 month old kitten was spayed on wednesday. She was quite lively thursday and ate all her food but since thursday night she has not hardly moved. She is just sleeping all the time and not eating much if any at all. Its now Saturday and she's still sleeping in the same spot, she purrs when I give her fuss but just goes back to sleep. Occasioally she'll get up and stretch her legs but only for 5 mins before she goes back to sleep. Is this normal?

No, this is not normal. You should take her back to the vet for a check up. It could be she is recovering too slowly from the anaesthetic. I have had several cats spayed so I can definitely say, this doesn't sound right.

would call the Vet just to be on the safe side.
Not drinking or eating is rather worrying.
Cats can go down hill fast if they don't stay hydrated.

Also, did your Vet give you pain meds for her?
If he did and you're still giving them to her that may be the reason she's sleeping all the time.

But like my first sentence says please call the Vet, don't mess around when it comes to your cats health.

Good luck, I hope kitty feels better soon.

She needs a recheck she might be having a reaction to the anesthesia... i would call your vet and tell them the symptoms and they will probably want to recheck her as a precaution.
ps... she was spayed if it was a girl and neutered if its a boy..smile

its pretty normal. this happened to my cat, but she was alright, she was just getting older, but if you are really concerned about you cat, take her to the vet. it might not be serious but you can never be too careful for the cat you love

I would call your veterinarians office and ask if they feel this is normal. Good Luck.
