I had mine cauterized to stop frequent nose bleeds in the winter and from a rise in blood pressure. When sick or raw, the dry tissues would crack the vessels coming from my sinus floor. I had the procedure about 10 years ago and maybe have only one a year now. I was very happy with the results after healing. One thing I wish I'd had tried is warm nasal rinse.

Try a saline nasal RINSE (not a spray) A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It draws out all the gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean). I've been doing it at work too. I use the water right out of the warm tap, add some salt from a packet in my pocket.

Buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot

You can do this as often as you like with no side effects.

You don’t need a prescription for this therapy. So if you live in a state like mine, they’ve pretty much “outlawed” sudafed medicine. Drug-free is really the way to go on a frequent-use basis. (I put in a link for “what” and “how” – there’s also some good info on wiki)

Bleeds like that are usually helped with keeping your home environment moist. Buy a humidifier, doesn't matter if it's hot or cold mist, any humidifier will get moisture into the air.

At night run the humidifier next to your bed and keep your bedroom door closed.

If you are taking anything that is drying, like sudafed or allergy medicine, stop it for a couple of weeks and see if your bleeds stop or at least slow down.

Keep your body hydrated. Drink more water than you want to. Drink Gatorade, anything without caffeine. And you should be peeing like mad when you finally reach a good level of hydration. Drink water all day every day. Caffeine causes dehydration, so if you are drinking sodas, coffee or Red Bull all day you'll need to cut back on that.

There is a nasal saline solution that you spray inside your nose. It's perfectly okay to use this and it will help clean out your nose.Use it according to the directions on the bottle or ask your pharmacist how to use it properly.

I assume when you went to the ER they did things like check your blood pressure, This happens frequently to people in winter because the heated air is very low in humidity and it dries the nose out making the blood vessels "crack". A humidifier can cure this. You could also get more immediate help with a saline nasal spray available at any drugstore

It may be because its too dry as you said at MA so i would get something to make it more humid at your house. Otherwise if its not that it could be a tissue that has been ripped a little and blood comes out, I had a tissue rip 4 yrs ago and i had the worst bloody noses every few days for like 5 months till my parents finally believed me and took me to the doc's.

Always consult a Real Doctor. before taking heed of any medical information on the Internet.

1..It could be High Blood Pressure.

2. you could have you vein cauterised , ( burnt with a hot needle)

3. You really need to stop picking it.

4. just put up with it, it will heal and you shouldn't really bleed to death.

5. consult a doctor. ignore all the above :-)

What Mrs. Z says! Also, I used to suffer from them a long time ago, and it seemed that once the vein broke, it was prone to break at any irritation such as blowing my nose or rubbing it. So just be very careful to not pick (it's tempting) and be as gentle as you can so you give it a chance to heal.

last time i had a constant nose bleed i went to see an ear, nose, and throat Dr, turns out i had throat cancer, the tumor was causing the bleeds, so maybe you should see an ENT, just to be on the safe side. best of luck.
