If your BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9, you are a healthy weight, even if you look skinny.

Go check yours here: http://allnutritionals.com/calculators/body_mass_index_calculator_children.htm

If you fit into the Healthy weight section, you do not need to try and put on any weight. If you are happy with your weight, ignore people who tell you that you are too skinny and just keep eating healthily!

Hope this helps.

Firstly I'd advise you to have a good hard think...You say that you are very skinny, yet you also mention naturally skinny. Which of these are you?
Secondly, I don't think how you feel about yourself should be influenced by others opinions. As you say, particularly recently, many people say that skinny isn't nice, however the skinny that they are referring to is 'size 0' skinny. Anyone who is size 0 is definitely not at a natural or healthy weight.
I understand how you are feelin as I'm underweight for my height and size. Recently I watched a programme called "The Truth About Size 0" and it made me think a lot about being underweight.
I have decided to begin a healthy diet including five fruit and veg a day and at least 2 portions of fish a week. The important thing for a healthy diet is to have breakfast, dinner, and tea without snacking inbetween. However, if you wish to snack, snack on fruit, veg and nuts, etc.
I hope this helped you :D xxx

Hi there when I was your age I was the same as you.You might find that as you grow older you might gain a little weight I did.
I know it's hard but as long as you are eating healthily and not starving yourself try not to worry what other people think.
There is too much of this theory that if you are slim then you don't eat and if you are overweight then you eat too much.
This is not always the case as everybody processes food differently and there could be hormonal problems that can affect weight gain and weight loss.
As long as you look healthy then there isn't a problem as we all come in different shapes and sizes.
Take care of yourself and eat as healthy as you can but enjoy the odd bad food in moderation too

Your still growing and filling out, but joining a gym can help you tone your body so you look less skinny for want of a better word, gyms help you put weight on as well as lose it, my friend suffered badly been teased because she was so slim but six months after joining a gym to help her gain the proper weight balance for her body through exercise and everyone was envious, good luck and don't let anyone do you down.

I would not suggest you should consider any sort of diet at 14 years, based on what PEOPLE think! If you are considering this go see a heath professional to look at the current position.

IF there happened to be a problem a discussion with a dietitian would then help you sort it out.

Oh sweetie, I know this is not going to answer your question but you should not worry about it. You are 14 and and teens focus too much on how they look. If you have a bad self image now, you will most likely always have it. Accept your body as it is (providing you are healthy) and love it. If people give you a hard time about being thin just ignore them. I know it is hard to do though.
