There's nothing wrong with masturbation. There's also nothing wrong about lust. Lust is a natural human emotion, and one of the better feeling ones, too. It's a shame that religions make people feel so guilty about feelings.

Sin is an outdated concept. Instead, make up your own mind about how you interact with others in this world. The purpose of morality is to allow people to live near each other in relative peace. A hermit doesn't need morality, because he doesn't deal witth anybody. So, the idea that masturbation is bad doesn't make sense. It is something you are doing with yourself, nobody else. It is not harmful to you, unless you do it so much you get sore.

So, go yank one off. Have fun. Don't be self-concious about it.

I don't see how one could not be done without the other, but masterbation is a sin in and of itself. It is a grave misuse of the procreative faculty and when done with full consent and deliberation, it is a serious sin. So, as with any sin, there must be a full consent and deliberation. So if one was waking up from a dream and finds a discharge, then no sin was committed.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and the dignity of human sexuality.

With love in Christ.

If your thoughts are not lustful then what are they? What/who are you thinking about while you are stroking(wasting) yourself ?

Masturbation is self seeking. Thats not what God(love) is.

Lust is not a sin, unless it causes you to do bad things..

I don't believe it is. The Bible doesn't say one way or another. I think it depends on the person though. Pray about it. If you feel convicted, it's probably wrong for you. If not, then it's probably okay.
