Go to Radio Shack and purchase the $20 Monster Screen Cleaning Kit....spray the cloth and gently wipe off the fingerprints......
NOW about those little hands......yes, you should Freak out EVERY time she touches it...Because those little hands can DAMAGE the LCD by pushing on it....just once and it's Gone!
Totally ruined! Just had a kid that threw a magnet at his Dad's LCD TV and it damaged it beyond repair! Worse yet, the DAD had just purchased it a week before! Gone!

Windex has some harsh chemicals, I wouldnt recommend using something like that on an expensive lcd tv. The screens are delicate, and too much hard pushing, will damage the screen. Do what it takes to keep those little hands off the screen. As for cleaning it, buy an lcd cleaning kit or use a soft, lint free cloth. If the soft cloth doesnt get out the prints, add a little bit of water, just a little bit!

You aren't supposed to touch any type of computer screen, TV screen etc... for the pure fact that it will cause fingerprints and just make the screen ugly. As mentioned before, do not compress the screen to hard or it will bust or become lodged into the back of the TV(depending on what kind of LCD we are talking about) LCD tvs aren't meant to be touched unless you want to pull out the Windex and clean them. As far as long term damage, No she isn't, unless she compresses the screen. Just keep out the windex and be prepared to clean the screen.
I am sorry, but the answer listed below is not accurate. Please do not go out and waste your money on a cleaning kit. Its useless. I own a LCD and the associate at Best Buy clearly said that Windex is the best thing to use.

I clean my computer and tv screens with a damp Windex cloth the type in the packets. I don't spray stuff on the screens because I think that messes it up but a wipe has never done damage to any of my tv or computer screens and I got the flat screen which I think is lcd.

It IS bad to touch them particularly if there is static electricity. Also there is an antistatic shield. Sprays like Windex are bad. Comp USA and Best Buy sell kits with cleaning clothes and a spray for LCD screens. That would be a good investment and you will need to teach that doing that is not ok just as touching dog poo and other things aren't ok.

I never heard you weren't supposed to touch them, just be careful not to compress the screen. But this was when the screen was made of flexible material. Most screens are made of stiff vynyl now, aren't they?
