The reason that explains this is that the Bible is not really ONE book, but rather a collection of different accounts of the creation of Earth, and different Middle-Eastern mitologies. So, it's very easy to find discrepancies in the Bible! For instance... in Genesis 1:2 the Spirit of God is hovering over the waters, but the waters just weren't there yet.
In particular, the creation of man out of mud or clay is a recurring theme in the Eastern mythologies... You can find it in Sumerian and Egyptian texts which came about 1500 years BEFORE the Bible.
So the reason why God created everything out of nothing, and then created man out of mud, is that the first part of the account belonged to one tradition, and the second part to another. In the Bible they were simply put together without clearing the discrepancies. Hope this helped.
If what you are asking for is a RELIGIOUS reason why God had to create Adam out of mud, I can't help you there, sorry. But if you ask someone in your church I am sure they'll be able to help.

The Creation story is not literal science, first of all.
Yes, God really did create us. For atheists, if we ask one "Who created us?" they might say that Nature did. Since mankind is certainly smarter than Nature, then can we create a person? No, we can't. We can clone creatures, but we can't create even a gnat from scratch, much less a human.
Everything is a created thing. The very fact that created things exist is proof all around that God exists. We can't have the created without the Creator, just as we can't have a poem without an author. The poem is proof that there is an author. Poems don't spontaneously appear out of thin air, someone had to write it. Created things didn't just develop willie nillie, there is a rhyme and reason. Rhyme and reason are created things as well, which proves that God exists. Created things - EVERYTHING, even emotion - are evidences of a Creator.
God made everything from scratch. Can we take clay and make a man? We can make a clay man, but not a real man. We may be able to clone tissue, but can we create the tissue out of ___ (whatever)??? Nope, only God can.

Yes god did create us.
and about the earth element it was necessary because if look around you will find that every thing on earth is taken or found either on earths surface or underground metal trees every thing even animals where created form earths elements
you will find every thing is from earth to earth every thing but water so the man origin is water and clay

He really created us like the Bible tells. I do not know if it was necessary to take an element from the earth but that is how He did it. I am happy to be here.

Because Human beings are a special and unique creation on the universe. and at the same time God didn't want this creature to boast against Him as the Devil (Lucifer) did when he was given such a glory.
2. second thing is out of nothing God created the whole universe but man He created with the dust and gave him His (God's) image and His (God's) likeness and ordered him to subdue the world and everything in it.
so the reason why God created man out of dust (element from earth) is to keep him an unique creature (in God's image and likeness) and at the same time when ever man goes agains God, talks agains God, creates something to worship with his self will, etc,. he should remember his origin and the effect of disobaying God (looking at Satan a model of disobayed creature)
I hope you can understand my brocken English.

Mankind had been making gods from clay and water for thousands of years before the Genesis story took shape, so it was a logical reversal to the men who created the creation fable that "God" would create man the same way.

To show that man was created from the earth for the earth and not another planet. Man is therefore an earthly being.

if you create a picture ; you have the complete and only right to color it in your personal choice of color, change anything whenever you want to.
similarly,God has made everything,He is "THE CREATOR"; so , it was His choice to make us from earth.
and the most important thing we have to remember is that God created us in His own image and gave us the dominion over every thing He created coz we are His children,His daughters&sons.
God made his choice. Now,we have to make our choice;to preserve and use wisely all things God has given us with trust,to take care.
Are we doing the work properly?
GOD BLESS.

The truth is no one really knows how anything happened. The only persons who could even attest to the actual existence of the garden of Eden and therefore write Genesis assuming that they weren't smoking weed or something did not write genesis. I think if you are looking to join religions such as Christianity or Islam etc. You have quit asking questions and follow blindly.
