he has gotten fired from two different furnace jobs.he was told he is not fast enough and, does not know what he is doing diagnoising things. he said they lie. nothing is never his fault.always someone elses. i do feel bad and sorry for him. he is a very hard worker and i have seen him do good work but not on his job. could the company be right?? i told him kindly he should either take a refresher or do something else. he said no he knows it all. im a nurse and still dont know it all as things always change and realize and admit this. thats reality and fact. we all at times need to keep up with classes to better ourselfs. he has a bad attitude at work. especially if someone tells him an easier way and are younger. i have no problem with it as younger people do know more at times.as they are up on the newest as they come in. sorry for misspelled words 4-give me.

wow, your b/f sounds like my nephew !

Anyway, tell him that perhaps he is taking things the wrong way & that when people TRY to give him help or advice on the job it's to HELP him, not hurt him, let him know that we can learn a lot from others no matter what age they are. It sounds like your b/f has LOW self esteem , maybe he needs
help w/ that 1st & then things will get better. Has
he ever talked to his former boss about how he feels or even a Dr . ?
Hope things get better soon & SORRY if none of this helps.

if you stay with him you will probably end up supporting him and then you will resent it. of course the companies are right.
but you can't change him or his thinking or attitude.
the best thing you can do is make sure you don't help him out financially. and that his parents don't (which you don't control)
it is more likely for him to make a change if he has to really face the consequences. as long as he has food, clothing, shelter from your nurse's pay he has no reason to work.
one thing you could do is encourage him to start his own business since it hasn't worked out working for others and he 'knows it all' - why doesn't he just do it himself then instead of getting a job with someone else. if the problem is really the employer then this would solve it.

Try to be positive, maybe your b/f should change careers and try something different. Ask him why he's not happy at work and see if there is anything you can do to support him. Maybe he's not confident enough to ask for extra training etc or just hates his job.

I know it's hard but maybe he gets fired because he is not happy.

He has a closed mind. that will transfer to your relationship eventually.. you really need to dump him before he turns on you.
Know it alls, who refuse to a refresher course or any more education, is not a know it all he is a know nothing!
