Only negative I am afraid. With the current imbalance in the distribution of wealth, the rich countries will be swampped with people from less fortunate countries. This will stress their economies to breaking point. Also, the loss of population and talent from the poor countries will make economic developement in those countries very difficult. An open borders policy can only be implemented when global wealth is evenly distributed.

People would naturally segregate themselves into tribes, and tribalism would govern. City-states would form, because people would want to identify themselves with some organized sub-group. The tendency would be for larger groups and city-states to conquer and subjugate the smaller ones, as was the practice during the Hellenic period and the Roman Empire. There would, as a result, be a lot more little wars. So, that's the bad.

The free movement of people could be good, although, people would all flock to places where sustenance resources are - namely, where the food/arable land and water are, and abandon areas where there is the potential to grow food but it's more difficult. There would be a lot more urbanization, I think, because of employment. So there would be intensive overcrowding in certain areas, and abandonment of large swathes of land to seed. This would probably result in even more starvation and hardship than we see now.

It would be good for the wildlife, though...

It can be summed up rather quickly.

America would fall into third world status economically pretty quick. After a few years, we would reach third world status governmentally and gorilla leaders would begin to emerge as our Population accross the country would increase beyond any sense of control.

It would be bad....

Just look at what the tidal wave of illegals have already done here.

Low wages, bankrupt health care and education systems.Social services being denied to Americans that need them.

Those problems would become even more unbearable than they are now.Every developed nation in the western world(I doubt Asian countries would even consider it)would implode.

Complete CHAOS will prevail. Unemployment, crime and cheap labor will overtake the peaceful existence of the well to do countries, whereas, the poor countries will be relieved of some of their miseries.
