I am now 39 wks pregnant and i had an awful time with morning sickness, infact i hate the word morning sickness because mines wasn't in the morning, it was 24/7! i had it until 30 wks pregnant and the only word i can think of to describe it is 'horrific!'
I was sick morning noon and night, i vomited at least 6 times a day and felt so unwell all the time.
The best piece of advice I can give you is the following..
get as much sleep as you can, even if it means going to bed straight after your tea, even if you don't sleep it will help the sickness, being tired always seems to make it worse.
eat little and often, and keep your sugar levels up, even if you can suck a little lolly pop throughout the day, do not overload your stomach because it will all come back up. and one thing i will say is don't' worry about eating the 'right' food at this stage, just concentrate on keeping food down and not being sick, once the sickness passes you will automatically begin to eat good greens!
I can sympathise with you, mine started at 6 weeks and I hated it, I wasn't even able to work or walk anywhere for fear of bring sick. I can't even count how many times i threw up in the middle of the street!!
good luck, and remember its not forever!!! You'll get through it! everyday is one more day to normality!! keep smiling.

I know there are a lot of answers already but I would like to share mine:) When I was pregnant with my daughter I could not eat anything!! I was sick all day and all night. The only thing I could halfway manage was sprite, 7-up to drink and dry cereal to eat. I ended up losing 15 pounds in my first trimester and they ended up putting me on zofran with melts under your tongue. It helped me soooo much and my daughter was fine. You may want to talk to your doctor about giving you something if your sickness is really bad. It makes a huge difference in how you feel. My morning sickness ended up getting a whole lot better as I entered about the 5th month. You can also try ginger which really helps with nausea and stomach issues. It is the natural way to go and it may help if you arn't comfortable with traditional medicines. Good luck.

oh how I remember that feeling. I was ill for most of my first pregnancy. Right, try eating a ginger biscuit BEFORE you get out of bed in the morning. Also I found I could keep down soft fruit better than anything. Try eating small amounts often rather than a big meal. If things don't improve and they prpobably will after three months, Talk to your doctor about vitamin pills. Herbal teas are also good to keep the sickness at bay. Good luck and I promise it won't last for long. x x

I started throwing up morning, noon, night and all in between from the time i was 2 months until the day i had my son at 35 weeks. I only gained 10 pounds during my entire pregnancy. The doctor did write out phenergan but it did not help at all. My son however was born very healthy. He weighed 4lbs 15.6oz and was 17 inches long at birth. (Almost 5 pounds)
He is now 5 years old and i have not threw up since the day i had him. You don't even know how bad i hate throwing up.
Good luck and hopefully your sickness won't last like mine did.

I had bad morning sickness with my last baby and the doctor gave me prenatal vitamins that help with it.Also try not to eat anything that has a strong smell.Maybe some fruits or veggies. That is a bad thing about pregnant the smell of stuff can turn your stomach and you can smell stuff way better.

I had it really bad it was nausia for 24/7. I didn't throw up more than about 15 times, but that nasuated feeling was awful. I was like that up until 10 weeks and then that feeling nicely went away. The smell thing really bothered me too. I went with whatever sounded good to eat and usually that worked for me.

Hi - Mine was awful! 24/7 most way through. However - just to say there is help out there, and don't imagine you will feel this way all way through! See your GP if you work, if it gets too bad you may need to be signed off work to rest. Do not worry about your baby, they will take their required nutrients from you, hence why you end up feeling awful but they still grow big & strong. Sips of liquid frequently can help, ginger biscuits every half hour or so stop your tummy feeling empty (makes you feel worse). Strong smells can aggrivate it, fridge used to do it for me! Try to avoid strong smells if possible. Best wishes!

Yea I sympathise...I too had it 24/7. To be honest it was the NAUSEA between BEING SICK that was worse for me. Not to mention the TIREDNESS!
my 1st son - had this from 6 to 26 weeks
2nd son - 5 to 14 weeks
3rd son 6 to 16 weeks
4th child DAUGHTER horaay! (not that I knew at the time) but was hospitalised for extreme sickness regulary from 4 to 23 weeks!!
Talking of smells.....my 1st son pregnancy - I had just bought a yellow car & to look or think about it made me vomit! So I got my dad to sell it for me! AND i couldnt stand the smell of mince cooking, garlic or sunsilk hairspray!
I wont go there on the cravings!

Im 7 weeks pregnant and mine hasn't been too bad. Although, I definitely feel the "waves" of nausea coming throughout the day... there aren't too many smells that set it off. Nothing really sounds good in terms of food - but I am hungry a lot.... It is weird - even my "favorite" foods don't sound appealing!

I'm 7 weeks pregnant, and so far no morning sickness!! I can tell you that the smell/sight of cerian foods does make me gaggy. However, about 10 at night, I start to feel alittle queezey but so far I haven't thrown up. Good luck, four of my other friends are pregnant too, and they all had morning/day sickness during their first couple of months, but have all "moved passed it", most likely it won't last your entire pregnancy!
