It's perfectly normal, just means she had her later in her life than most do. My husband will be 49 when our youngest is 11. As for her mom beign in pain, I'm really sorry it must be hard for your friend to see her mom hurt. I have a chronic pain condition adn my 12 year old doesn;t liek to watch me hurting either.

That's normal. Some people marry and have children later in life.
My mother had me when she was 37 so she was 48 when I was 11.
Her mother should see a doctor about her pain. It could be due to arthritis or something worse.
