Wake up about the time you will be getting off of work and stay awake for 24 hours. Trust me I work rotating shifts. You will be tired for the first few days but you will adjust. And be thankful for a set schedule. Hope it goes well.

There is now a new Rx called Provigil ....its not an upper or a narcotic but for sleep apnea and for ones that have odd shift work and can't stay awake.......ask your doctor about it...you could use it just till your body adjusts to the new hours

Try taking 3-6 mg Melatonin before your sleep cycle. Many find it an excellent supplement for resetting your circadian rhythm during shiftwork. I find it very helpful. One bottle is very cheap, so it's worth the try.

Also, watch what you eat. Avoid sugars. They will crash your blood sugar and make you sleepy. Focus on a high protein meal going into your shift and complex carbs during the shift to keep your energy up. Eat a light, easy to digest meal before going to sleep.

Obviously, do whatever you can to make your sleep environment conducive to daytime sleep...white noise machines, blacking out windows, cool moving air, etc.

I never could get adjusted to it. Some people can; it might take about a month.
