i always had the same problem.
a girl i went to school with never caught eye contact with any of the audience, she would look beyond them to the back of the room, but she was singing so didn't have to follow music.
somehow try to only focus on the music you are playing and block everything around you.
good luck, i could never do it.

Develop a phrase or a few key words like "Time to relax" or "I'm ready" and practice saying these out loud just before you do something simple and easy, like brushing your teeth. Say it before you do the dishes, start the car, put on your pants, etc.
Your mind will train itself to understand that the task is something you can do and have done and your heartbeat will not escalate in anticipation to the act or task.
When you are ready for the solo, say your phrase and do your thing.

take a deep breath, say to yourself, i know i can do it and just imagine yourself at home practicing. don't think about the audience, think about yourself and how much pleasure you get by playing. don't think negative thoughts, just self-assured positive thoughts and go for it. remember the audience is their for you - and YOU know that you can do it. just enjoy the moment - it's YOUR special moment. good luck and relax and savor the moment.
