NBC, CBS, and ABC have their primetime shows online free of charge. I'm sure there are some other networks that have shows or at least webisodes of past shows online. Also, most premium channels have the "ondemand" feature. You pay a flat rate and watch all the shows you want, when you want. For other shows, try YouTube. People post episodes of all kinds of show on their, movies too.
