I don't have a finite number, but every Caesarean delivery increases the risks somewhat of surgical complications. Most people are not aware that after any kind of operation there are scars that are internal that we refer to as adhesions. And those adhesions develop variably from patient to patient. And so for an individual, a second delivery might be substantially more risky than the first one was. And for another woman who doesn't form adhesions, that risk is not increased greatly. But with experience, if you've done a second C-section and you see that there is a lot of scar formation, you can start to tell a patient, "By the time we're up to your fourth C-section, I'm afraid we're going to be in some difficult surgical situations." In general, most people in family planning should not have a great deal of concern with having three Caesarean deliveries. Beyond three, some women will face a substantial surgical risk that needs to be weighed against whether they really want to have that next baby.

Yes and yes.
A third c-section is entirely possible. Doctors try not to place specific limits and say that "this is the c-section limit for every patient that comes to my office".
Doctors can certainly make recommendations on the limits they think an individual patent can handle based on four things:
- the patient's history of recovery and how well they heal from their c-sections;
- the patient's accumulation of adhesions and/or scar tissue from previous c-sections
- how close together the patient is having the pregnancies and c-sections; and
- why they need to have the c-sections
I mean, what can they do if you are pregnant for the third time after 2 sections and are unsuccessful in trying for a VBAC? Refuse to deliver your baby?
But playing the usual odds, doctors may tell patients to reconsider any further pregnancies after 3 c-sections, especially if they have all been less than 2 years apart. However, there is no hard and fast rule, and some patients are able to handle repeat c-sections without complication if the patient takes good care of herself, and spaces her pregnancies well.

It really depends on your Dr. I have had 2 caesarians and for any future children caesarians are preferred due to the scar rupturing which can be fatal. My specialist has advised me that 4 caesars will be the maximum that he will do. I am ttc a 3rd child without any sucess as yet.
