virgin media popular with their triple offers at the moment. The usually install quickly as it's new revenue.
Their TV, like others has just been hit by Sky's withdrawal of numerous free channels. This has affected freeview too!
Your budget will obviously dictate your package, but make broadband your priority, as internet phone systems such as Skype are becoming more popular - free phone through BB, and down load tv from net - can i say that?
Too many channels and you'll just sit there channel hopping looking for some thing good amongst the endless rubbish.

I am also having this problem.
I want fast internet acess where I can download pictures, read and reply to emails, and chat in groups.
After forking out for a dell computer I did see a few ooffers included- tiscalli for £13.99 a month or a free month on orange on £14.99 a month.
Eitherway I have to get a BT land line so I did this. It wont be installed till the end of march (not quickly)
If its just broadband you want- virgin do afew offers, one with tv as well is £20 a month, and as it is done throuhg cable, you do not need to hover about waiting for bt to install a landline! Virgin quoted me aone and a half weeks- but this would depend on your area, so you'd need to ask them really. The phone number is listed on the www.virginmedia website. The only thing which put me off was the speed- though this depends on your bandwidth- which you'd need to ask them about, the max is 2mb on this package, and obviously more for higher priced packages (it goes up to 10mb). You also gotta pay for the modem and setting it up fee.
Sky are also really good but expensive- as you need to have a bt line and pay line rental which currently £10.75 a month. If you add that to their broadband only option, you are paying £15 plus £10.75 which is £25.75 a month, for the bigger packages, remember to add line rental to it!
I like the sound of talk talk, as it quotes to be less that bt - bt broadband csts £17.99 a month plus line rental- you do get free installation and a free modem, but pay more per year for it. Talk talk are £8.99 plus £11 line rental, making it £19.99 a month, and the speed is as good as bt and better than virgin, its 8mb.
There are opthers availible, I went and googled,: cheap broadband, and it gave me comparison sites, but always remember that line rental is included in most of the options.
Also, visit the sites just to check and confirm the listing is correct.

You could get the three for thirty deal with virgin, so u get medium tv channels, 2mb unlimited broadband and upgrade to unlimited calls all for about £35 ish. Remember with sky you have to add like £11 for line rental from BT unlike virgin.
I get the large tv pack, unlimited calls, unlimited 4mb broadband (that is actually 4mb unlike sky's ADSL) for £42 a month.
