thank u4the 1st 3responces I have recieved 2day 3/10/07.
-as4the "crushed, hurt, &broken hearted"...I am sadden on the ignorance of our youth's viewpoints in todays society.
As a woman myself,I am very offended2realize that it is Chatman's sexual orientation¬ her coachin ability that truly matters.
It amazes me when ppl find out or speculate someone is gay/lesbian,they automatically assume they r "attracted" 2EVERY LIVIN SPECIES OF THEIR SAME SEX THAT CROSSES THEIR PATH! Haha...I guess thats like sayin every "straight" woman is goin2 "jump" every man that walks by them&vise versa! Is that how it works?
-I myself am disappointed in the events that have unfolded in the last week. As a community member of Baton Rouge, I have watched Chatman through lots of games.
U know...I wonder if all these "rumors" flyin around causin this2happen-Y not check out ALL THE LSU FACULTY-STUDENT BODY RELATIONSHIP FACTOR?!
Workin in a salon, many r quick2spill their "secrets" ;-) hmmm...

Let us all go2hell if it really came out that Pokey Chatman really did have a relationship-not only with 1 of her players, but GOD help us all,MORE THAN 1(r ppl really blinde when it comes2seein what is right in front of their face?)...last time i checked-it takes two2tango&once u hit college status...arent u considered a grown-adult?Actually,by law once u r 18yrs, u r considered an adult.I am sure every last college student if asked would answer just so...Mommy&Daddy dont make ur decissions @ this point-unless u actually live with a "Mommy Dearest." In that case-I do honestly feel sorry4the unfortunate who havent learn yet2grow up.
-Geez,I could write a book bout all this, but I could bore myself with it cause no matter what, the world will always have ignorant ppl who teach their children their ignorant ways,&my friend this is how "history repeats itself."
-Oprah recently presented "the Secret"(novel/dvd)on her show-CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN URSELF.Learn who u r&love urself4u,not others

I was crushed. It hurt, and broke my heart to find out something like that. I am a high school player, and a pretty good one, and I really wanna play college ball. For the past 14 years, the school i wanted to play at was Tennessee, and thats it. But 3 or 4 years ago, when Pokey Chatman was named head coach, LSU was added into the mix, but after all this, that has changed. I was so so so disappointed when i read that across ESPN's BottomLine. Then, the next day, with the sexual relationship allegations, it just pushes the dagger farther in. I didnt even know she was into girls! But to have a raletionship with one, one of her own PLAYERS?! What was she thinking? I mean what about all her straight players? Did she prey on them, too?? I cant believe i wouldve subjected myself to that environment. I still think she is a hell of a coach, and this is such a waste. Right after they beat my Lady Vols, too! Thats what makes me mad more than anything. She shouldve went ahead and left, to make them all emotionally imbalanced, instead of prepared, like they were. I guess she was just being a good coach, and looking out for the interests of her players.

Psshht..that will the day. At least Pat Summitt goes home to her husband every night instead of gettin it on with her players!

To be honest, and this is not a knock necessarily on Chapman personally, but if what is rumored is true- and we might never know because she might have done the honorable thing and left before others may have been embarassed- I do not want to see the media go soft just because she's a female coach. Student athletes are young and naive, and authority figures like Chapman are trusted with making sure they get through a hard time in their lives without adding further stresses by attempting to get personal gratification. I will add, however, that if Chapman gets counseling and appears to have learned her lesson, in due time another school should give her a chance to coach or maybe the WNBA.

you know what? Pokey is still a damn good coach in my opinion, but she crossed the border when it came to that rumor, i dont know if any team will take a chance on her to be a head coach or any coach at that, but her record is great, just too bad she made that mistake, oh yeah pokey's fine too lol.

IF HER BEHAVIOR WAS INAPPROPRIATE, THEN HER RESIGNATION WAS CORRECT.
