You can not convert square feet into metres because one is a measure of area and one is a measure of length.
If in google you type "25 square feet in square metres" you get the answer 25 (square feet) = 2.322576 square meters

Well...one foot is 0.3048m...
So, we square that...
0.3048 sq. = 0.0929m sq
Then, multiply by 250
= 0.0929m sq. x 250
= 23.22576 sq metres altogether.

Well, first you have to convert gallons to liters: 1 gal = 3.785 liter 17000 gal * (3.785 liter/gal) = 64345 liters Now you have to convert liters to meters, then meters to feet: 1 ml = 1cm^3 100 cm = 1 m 1m = 3.28 ft 64345 liter * (1000ml/liter) * (1cm^3/1ml) * (1m/100cm)^3 * (3.28ft/1m)^3 = 2270.54 ft^3 So you converted 17000 gal to 2270.54 ft^3. <------That's in cubic feet because gallons is a volumetric unit of measurement. So assuming your pool is a rectangle with 2270.54 ft^3: Surface area of pool (rectangle) = L*W + 2(W*H) + 2(L*H) <---- L*W isn't doubled because the pool is open. So: Volume of rectangle: L*W*H = 2270.54 ft^3 So say your pool is on average 6 ft deep (H) and 25 ft wide (W): HLW = 2270.54 6LW = 2270.54 LW = 378.42 L = 378.42/W L = 15.136 ft Substituting into surface area: Area = LW + 2WH + 2LH Area = 15.136*25 + 2(25)(6) + 2(15.136)(6) Area = 378.423 + 300 + 181.632 Area = 860.1 ft^2 <----with the dimensions I specified So if you can paint 250 ft^2/can, and my hypothetical pool has a surface area of 860.1 ft^2, then: =(860.1ft^2)/(250ft^2/can) = 3.44 cans of paint <----ANSWER with dimensions I specified. You'll have to measure the length, height, and width of YOUR pool and substitute those values into the equations above.
