why do people idiolize mobsters who are basically rich criminals there are alot of people who look up to people like john gotti and al capone and lucky luciano and i dont know why

Because they lead dangerous lives, and was above the law for sometime. And since most people are are law abidding and would NEVER do what these wise guys have done.

I think Television made this a seam, in peoples minds that is the American dream, money, girls, drugs, police and judges on your side and people respect & fearing you. You are a King
But in reality they don't show all the people they intimidated to get their desired results. like in the day of the cowboys, being a badass is just plain Kool

people somehow got the ideas that gangsters were trying to "stick it to the man' , beat the system somehow. that they weren't the bad guys, but rather the police and other government figures. I also think that people fantacize about the idea of gangsters because television has mad them see like cool and sexy tough heros. Al pacino's Scarafce is a perfect example.

Just watch your local TV channels.
All the ads between shows are for
murder/ killing/ crimes/ shows.
And luxury goods like the crims own..
TV controls the world.

because they are "evil",people are sick of seeing good people like cops,detectives etc. would you watch a movie about an girl going to school ,coming home eating,doing homework?Is more interesting seeing the "mob"!:D

not sure, but i would to have loved the roaring 20s, i don't look up to them, i just like how they got things done, can you imagine----LUCIANO FOR PRESIDENT----SAY GOOD BY IRAQ, SAY GOOD BYE IRAN, SAY GOOD BYE NORTH KOREA------- that's what i like about mobsters!!!!!
