I would advise anyone to ask your pediatrician for a copy of the chart they use in their office to show weights and dosages. My ped gave it to me like 3 years ago and I have kept it in the meds cabinet since--it has saved a lot of phone calls and guess work.

I know you said you figured it out, but I am surprised that no one was able to give you a realistic answer. If they have kids they should know that a label is just a guide, but who can better tell you is your pediatrician. Always call your pediatrician if you have any questions especially if they are about medicine and dosage. Based on your childs age and weight the dosage may be different than that on the label. One more thing to know is t hat since Motrin and Tylenol (acetominophen) don't contain the same ingredients, you can alternate them if your medicating your child for ear infections or to control fevers. As long as no two medications have the same ingredients you can alternate them. Most often the medicine wears off before the next dosage is due, so that is why it's good to alternate them. But always, always, consult with your doctor first.

It's better to calculate the dose by body weight. It's 10-15 mg per kg.Just multiply your baby's weight by ten or 15.Then see on the package how much paracetamol or acetaminophen there is in a drop.lets say there is x mg in a drop. Then just divide the number which u have previously calculated (no of milligrams your baby needs according to body weight) by x.
Good Luck

Check the label on the bottle. If it doesnt say, Id contact your pediatrician before giving it to your child if you were unsure. You can also call a local pharmasist.

If the label doesn't specify for a child that age please, call your doctor. Even on the weekend they will call you back if you leave a message with their machine or service. They will give you the right amount without any doubt. Or you can see your local pharmacist.

Some one sounds cranky, but that is to be suspected since you have a sick baby at home. I hope your baby gets better real soon. Celeste

Depends how much he/she weighs, not his/her age. Call your pediatrician for the appropriate dose.
